Thousands of people marvel at the gigantic "Love The Summer" letters on the beach in Ostend, designed to draw attention to the Q-Beach House the radio station has set up there. It's a very successful, 6-meter-tall construction that's frequently photographed, climbed, and commented on. However, the creators and implementers hail from the complete opposite side of the country: New Lines from Genk got the green light from the popular radio station to develop the concept.
"It was a job we couldn't handle alone," admits Math Willems of New Lines. "That's why we approached befriended companies from the neighborhood. Because the structure had to meet the necessary safety requirements, we opted to mount everything on a base plate from Warsco Units (Genk/Zutendaal), which also handled the transport. To guarantee stability, we enlisted Ebema. This allowed us to weigh down the construction to a total weight of around 5 tons. Just like us, Marc Warson from Warsco and Jan Panis from Ebema really enjoyed working on this project. For them, especially because it's not part of their core business. Meanwhile, everyone who contributed is, of course, very proud that the project is so often depicted in the press and in the thousands of holiday photos of all visitors."
