Warsco Built Two Large and Exclusive Living Trains for NMBS

NMBS (Belgian National Railway Company) already has five living trains for rapid interventions, capable of housing twenty to twenty-five people autonomously. Recently, they ordered two more from us, each consisting of eight connected wagons, 19.53 meters long. This was a custom job, requiring us to stay within specific dimensions so the trains could pass through tunnels.

The trains comprise five sleeping wagons, a kitchen and dining wagon, an office and storage wagon, and a sanitary wagon. Each wagon features its own water supply (and water softener), wastewater tank, oil-fired heating system, and fire alarm. Electrically, the entire train is powered from an energy car, with options for fixed power (from the depot) or power via the generator located in the energy car. The dining and office areas are also equipped with an air conditioning system and the necessary TV and internet connections.

Warsco constructed all of this in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.
